OSFL Game Day Requirements
The following Game Day Requirements have been established by the Ontario Summer Football League (OSFL) to ensure a safe, fair, and professional environment for all teams, officials, volunteers, and spectators. All member organizations are expected to comply with these requirements for every scheduled league game.
1. The home team must provide a safe and welcoming atmosphere for opposing teams, coaches, volunteers, and fans.
2. The home team must provide sideline benches for the opposing team.
3. The home team must provide access to water and ice. A minimum of two (2) bags of ice must be provided to each team.
4. The home team must provide game officials at the expense of the home team.
5. The home team must provide a stick crew.
6. The home team must provide washroom and change room access. If change rooms are not available on site, an alternative must be presented to the league for approval prior to the start of the season.
7. Each team must provide its own certified trainer. Exception: U10 and U12 teams may share trainers with prior approval from the home team.
8. Teams must have both home and away jerseys to avoid jersey conflicts. The home team has the right to choose jersey colour. The away team must wear a contrasting alternate jersey (e.g., white if the home team is wearing a dark colour).
9. If the home team has spotter (coach booth) access, the home team must provide equivalent spotter access to the away team.
10. The home team must provide the away team with adequate field space to warm up at least one (1) hour prior to kickoff.
11. The away team is responsible for cleaning their sidelines and change room at the conclusion of the game.
12. The home team is responsible for providing a new or like-new game ball. The away team may use its own game ball provided it is also in new or like-new condition.
13. The home team is responsible for having a visible scoreboard. If a stationary scoreboard is not available or is not operational at the stadium or venue, the home team must provide a tabletop scoreboard. Any alternative scoreboard solution must be communicated to the league for approval prior to the start of the season.
14. Home teams may charge a gate fee to spectators, to a maximum of $10.00 per person.
