OSFL Appeals Procedure

Eligibility to File an Appeal

All appeals must be submitted exclusively by the club’s officially listed President. Appeals submitted by any other individual or representative will not be accepted or reviewed.

Clubs must present new evidence or demonstrate that there was an incorrect interpretation of a rule or league procedure in order to file an appeal.

The exception to the above requirement applies to player or coach ejections from a game, which may be appealed without the requirement of new evidence or procedural interpretation concerns.

Appeal Submission Process

All appeals must be submitted electronically through the official OSFL Appeals Form, which will be provided to all Club Presidents prior to the start of the season. Appeals submitted through any other method will not be considered.

Appeal Deadline

All appeals must be submitted no later than Tuesday of the game week in order to be reviewed, heard, and ruled upon prior to the club’s next scheduled league game. Appeals submitted after this deadline may be reviewed at the discretion of the OSFL Executive but are not guaranteed to be ruled upon before the following game.

Appeal Fine

A processing fee of $250 CAD must be submitted to the league prior to the appeal being reviewed or heard. The appeal fee must be sent via eTransfer to payment@osfl.club. If the appeal is ruled in favour of the club, the $250 appeal fee will be refunded in full.

      Review & Decision Authority

All appeals will be reviewed and ruled upon by the OSFL Executive or its designated committee. Decisions rendered by the OSFL Executive are considered final and binding.
